To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent discussions he has held with the United Nations Human Rights Council on human rights and terrorist hostage taking.

The UK participated in discussions on human rights and terrorist hostage taking at official level at the 21st session of the Human Rights Council in September 2012, at which a resolution was adopted. Officials continue to engage with members of the Council, and will do so at the next session in September 2013.
