To ask the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills whether consultation took place with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the Ministry of Defence before export licences to Syria were granted for the period January 2011 to June 2012.

All export licences to Syria were rigorously assessed on a case by case basis against the consolidated European Union (EU) and National Arms Export licensing criteria, and final decisions are based on advice from other relevant Departments.
