To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions what assessment he has made of the effects of the benefit cap on (a) single-parent and (b) two-parent households.

The benefit cap started phased implementation in April this year and is due to complete national implementation by the end of September when all appropriate households will be capped. Statistics of those who have been capped in the first four local authorities as of end June 2013, by household type, are available at:
