To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what reports his Department has received about the welfare of Christians living in rebel-held areas of Syria.

We have serious concerns about rising sectarian tensions in Syria. We believe that President Assad's actions include a deliberate attempt to stir up tensions in his efforts to hold on to power. The regime's actions continue to undermine the stability and security of Syria and therefore endanger all Syria's citizens, including Christians and other religious minorities. The National Coalition has committed to reaching out to minorities and has made clear that there will be a place for all Syrians, regardless of ethnicity or religious belief, in a future Syria. We continue to encourage the National Coalition to deliver on these principles and commitments.
