To ask Her Majesty’s Government whether there have been any discussions with the government of the United States about that country contributing towards the running costs of Ascension Island.

There have been no such discussions in recent years. The use of facilities on Ascension Island by the United States is governed by a series of diplomatic exchanges, including the Bahamas Agreement. These agreements contain no provision to charge the United States for its use of Ascension.
