To ask the Secretary of State for Transport how many miles of High Speed 2 within the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty are not planned to be in a tunnel as of 16 July 2013.

Of the 12.9 miles through the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, only 5.5 miles is not in bored tunnel or green tunnel. However this does not take into account the length of route hidden in cutting, which is over 3.5 miles.
