The potential impact of airport construction on biodiversity has been subject to detailed analysis in the environmental impact assessment undertaken by UK consultants during the period 2005 to 2007. Surveys and mitigation measures to protect biodiversity have been undertaken subsequently in response to variations in construction design and will continue to be carried out as necessary.
