To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations the Government has made to the Government of Uganda in relation to the Anti-Homosexuality Bill before the Ugandan Parliament; and if he will make a statement.

The Government is committed to ensuring that Lesbian. Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT) people around the world are free to live their lives in a safe and just environment. We have raised our concerns about the proposed Anti-Homosexuality Bill with the Ugandan Government at the highest levels. Most recently, the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, my right hon. Friend the Member for Richmond (Yorks) (Mr Hague), raised this issue with the Foreign Minister of Uganda in May.
