To ask the Secretary of State for International Development what strategies she has to create apprenticeships in her Department; and what plans she has to promote such strategies.

The Civil Service Apprenticeship Scheme was launched in April 2013 and a pilot cohort will commence with 100 places across Government Departments in September 2013. The aim is to increase the total places available in the future to 500 and DFID is committed to participate when the scheme is extended.
