To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assessment he has made of whether the demands made at the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union on 26 April 2012, urging the Government of Burma to secure the status and welfare of the Rohingya, have been met by the Government of Burma.
There is a continuing need to address the status and welfare of the Rohingya community in Burma's Rakhine State. At the Foreign Affairs Council on
EU Foreign Ministers also invited the High Representative, Baroness Ashton, to propose a comprehensive framework with priorities for the EU's policy and support to the ongoing reforms for the next three years. We are working closely with EU member states and institutions to ensure it includes action to address the status of the Rohingya community.
