To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government if he will consider introducing a requirement that at least 10 per cent of properties in new housing developments across the UK should be wheelchair accessible or easily adaptable to wheelchair access.

Housing standards in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are the responsibility of the devolved Administrations. In England, accessible housing standards are being considered as part of the Housing Standards Review, on which a consultation will be published shortly.
