My predecessor as the Minister responsible for High Streets, my right hon. Friend Grant Shapps, met Mary Portas twice, and I have met her twice (September 2012 and February 2013) and I have spoken to her by phone.

Officials have also had regular contact with her team to discuss the review and the work of the Portas pilots.
