To ask the Attorney-General how many vending machines in his Department's premises contain snack foods that are high in calories and low in nutritional value.

On premises controlled by the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) there are three vending machines that contain snack foods. There are also an additional five vending machines that contain snack foods located in other properties occupied by the CPS, which are provided by the premises' major occupiers or landlords.

These vending machines are stocked and maintained by the companies providing the machines and while it is possible that they may be stocked with snack foods that are high in calories and low in nutritional value, no central record of the contents has been kept to date.

There are no vending machines present in any of the other premises occupied by staff in the Law Officers' Departments.
