To ask the Secretary of State for Transport when the franchise for the East Coast Main Line will be put out to tender; and when he expects the contract to be awarded.

When the Secretary of State for Transport announced the new schedule for rail refranchising on 26 March 2013 he also published the Prior Information Notice (PIN) detailing the key dates of the new East Coast Main Line programme:
