To ask Her Majesty’s Government what is their assessment of the resolution of the International Democrat Union Executive at its Helsinki meeting on 14 April 2013 regarding North Korea’s nuclear test.

The International Democrat Union’s statement on North Korea of 14 April condemned in the strongest terms the nuclear test conducted on 12 February 2013 and urged North Korea to stop any further military threats. We have been clear to the North Korean Government that they have a choice to make: either continue with this provocative path and face further isolation, or engage constructively with the rest of the world. The US and South Korea in particular have been clear that they will engage with North Korea if it ceases its irresponsible behaviour.
