Work and Pensions written question – answered at on 14 March 2013.
To ask the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions whether people who have had their jobseeker's allowance stopped as a result of missing a single adviser appointment and who are on hardship payments are still categorised as jobseekers.
If a claimant has received a sanction for missing a single adviser appointment without good reason, and is receiving hardship payments, then they are still categorised as jobseekers and therefore they are still included on the claimant count.
