To ask Her Majesty's Government what is the definition of "veteran" when applied to the Military covenant.

The definition of a veteran is provided in the Armed Forces covenant document, published in May 2011. Section B, page 8, states:

"Veterans-Those who have served for at least a day in HM Armed Forces, whether as a Regular or as a reservist".
