Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs written question – answered at on 27 February 2013.
To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what assistance his Department is giving to anti-government forces in Syria.
The UK has so far committed £9.4 million in non-lethal assistance to the Syrian unarmed opposition and civil society. This has included communications support, generators, water purification systems and support for local administrative councils. We continue to offer the National Coalition assistance as it develops political structures and establishes itself as the legitimate representative of the Syrian people.
