To ask Her Majesty's Government what is their estimate of the cost to farming in the last year for which figures are available of flooding and standing water in low-lying areas in England.

We have no specific estimate of the cost to farming of flooding and standing water. Defra recently published provisional estimates of farm business income for a range of farm types in England for the year ending February 2013 and covering the 2012 harvest. This can be viewed at the Defra website. These provisional estimates of income will have taken into account a large range of factors, including extra costs resulting from the wet weather.
