To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer

(1) who his Department's cycling champion is;

(2) what progress his Department has made on implementing the Cycle to Work guarantee;

(3) whether his Department has signed up to the Government's Cycle to Work scheme.

HM Treasury first offered members of staff the opportunity to sign up to a Cycle to Work scheme in 2008. The Department currently offers staff the chance to purchase a bicycle through a scheme twice a year in May and November. Each window is open for a four week period. HM Treasury encourages all its employees to choose environmentally friendly forms of transport to and from work in both its London and Norwich offices, and provides free secure storage and changing facilities for those who choose to do so.

HM Treasury does not currently have a cycling champion.
