It would be inappropriate to comment specifically on investigations into allegations connected with the Hillsborough disaster while these investigations are ongoing. The Secretary of State for the Home Department announced a package of measures to improve police integrity to Parliament on 12 February 2013, Hansard , columns 713-25. One of these measures will prevent officers from avoiding misconduct proceedings by retiring.
