I wrote to the Lord Chief Justice in December following a request from the coroners for South Yorkshire (East) and West Yorkshire (West) for a senior judge to be nominated for them to appoint to conduct the new Hillsborough inquests. The Lord Chief Justice nominated Lord Justice Goldring in January and the judge's subsequent appointment as Assistant Deputy Coroner in South Yorkshire (East) and West Yorkshire (West) was announced on 13 February.
