To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what estimate he has made of the additional revenue generated by the application of annual licence fees for 700 MHz spectrum from the end of 2014.

The responsibility for determining the annual licence fee rates for commercial users of 700MHz spectrum is the responsibility of the independent office of communications, Ofcom, as part of its spectrum management duties under the Wireless Telegraphy Act 2006. HM Treasury has therefore not made a formal estimate of any future spectrum licence fees for 700MHz spectrum.
