To ask the Chairman of Committees what is the projected saving in the estate cleaning contract costs arising out of the House of Lords savings strategy and financial plan approved in 2010.

When Millbank House opened in September 2011, the House of Lords Administration outsourced the cleaning of the building to an external contractor. This saved an estimated £84,700 per annum by comparison with the cost of the additional 21 in-house housekeepers who would otherwise have been needed.
