To ask the Secretary of State for Justice pursuant to the answer of 3 December 2012, Official Report, columns 666-7W, on prisons: drugs and alcoholic drinks, if he will publish details of the length of time that such prisoners were remanded in custody for the latest year for which figures are available.
We are unable to publish information on the length of time that such prisoners—as mentioned previously in written answer of
For all remand prisoners the average time spent on remand awaiting trial and/or sentence is nine weeks.
These figures have been drawn from administrative IT systems which, as with any large scale recording system, are subject to possible errors with data entry and processing.
