To ask the Secretary of State for Justice if he will consider the introduction of cost limits to legal aid cases; and if he will make a statement.

Further to those reforms to legal aid in the Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 which, alongside changes to fee reforms, is estimated to save approximately £320 million per annum by 2014-15, my right hon. Friend the Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice has announced an immediate examination of aspects of the system which impact on public confidence in the system. The results of this will be published in due course.
