We agree with the statement by the International Young Democrat Union and strongly welcome President Santos's announcement of peace negotiations with the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia. The launch of peace talks is a courageous step to bring the hope of peace for all Colombians after decades of conflict. The UK stands ready to draw on its experience in support of the Colombian peace process as it progresses.
