To ask the Minister for the Cabinet Office pursuant to the answer of 16 July 2012, Official Report, column 542W, on public sector: billing, which Departments require their contractors to have signed up to the Prompt Payment Code before they are hired; and if he will make a statement.

Central Government Departments' contract terms require contractors to pay their subcontractors within 30 days in line with the Government's prompt payment code. Information is not held centrally on which Departments require suppliers to have signed up to the code itself before they are appointed.
