To ask Her Majesty's Government what is their estimate of the number of employers in the United Kingdom who will have to supply details of their employees' salary and national insurance each month as part of universal credit.

HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) does not hold information on the number of employers who will have employees claiming universal credit. However, of the, approximately, 1.7 million PAYE schemes in the UK, HMRC would expect the majority of these schemes to employ at least one person who claims tax credits.
