To ask Her Majesty's Government how they will ensure that there is a legacy from the volunteer activity during the Olympic Games.

The Government are keen to use the momentum created by both Games to encourage even more people to continue volunteering, and are in discussions with LOCOG about how to make best use of their database to keep volunteers engaged.

We are backing front-line organisations to support existing and new volunteering opportunities, as well as investing in infrastructure and reducing bureaucracy to better connect volunteers to these opportunities.

Additionally, the newly created Olympic Legacy Unit is fully focused on building on the legacy of this year's golden summer of sport.
