To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many military personnel were fitted with microprocessor-controlled prosthetic knees in specialist rehabilitation centres in each of the last five years.
The Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) at Headley Court prescribe and fit prosthetics for armed forces personnel. The first microprocessor knee prescribed by DMRC was in 2008. To date, 96 armed forces personnel have been prescribed microprocessor knees which were fitted by the DMRC.
The number of armed forces personnel prescribed and fitted by DMRC by year is as follows:
