To ask the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs what financial penalties the EU has imposed on the UK for breaches of air quality standards; and if he will make a statement.

The UK has never been fined in relation to any infraction proceedings. We would always seek to work with the European Commission and relevant authorities to meet EU obligations and avoid infraction.
