To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what estimate she has made of the number of inbound tourists to the UK in the latest month for which figures are available.

This information is not recorded by the Department. Data relating to inbound tourism are recorded via the Office for National Statistics International Passenger Survey (IPS). The latest published data can be found at the following link:

http://www.visitbritain.org/Images/August%202012%20IPS %20Memo%20with%20charts_tcm29-35181.pdf which shows that an estimated 420,000 visits from overseas to the UK took place in July and August 2012.
