To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs with reference to the recommendation of the European Group of National Human Rights Institutions, whether he plans to undertake a national baseline study and gap analysis with reference to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.

The Government congratulate the European Group of National Human Rights Institutions on their recent successful conference in Berlin. The Government envisage that their strategy on business and human rights will include analysis of the current UK baseline situation across the three pillars of the Protect, Respect and Remedy Framework.
