To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what recent reports he has received on the forthcoming elections in the Turks and Caicos Islands; and if he will make a statement.

The Governor's Office in the Turks and Caicos Islands published a progress report on 18 September entitled “Implementing Reforms and Preparing for Elections”, which is available online at

This report summarises the good progress that has been made by the Elections Office and the Governor's Office with the preparations for the elections which are due to be held on 9 November.
