To ask the Secretary of State for Transport pursuant to the answer of 17 September 2012, Official Report, column 519W, on motor vehicles: disability, what assessment he has made of the issues arising from the European Commission's roadworthiness proposal.

No assessment has been made on the issue of modifications for disabled drivers. Officials will be seeking clarification on the testing of vehicle adaptations as part of the ongoing negotiations on the current Roadworthiness Proposal. The UK will continue to vigorously oppose aspects of this proposal that imply costs for the UK.
