To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will assess the extent of spare capacity at (a) London Oxford and (b) London Southend airports.

The Department published an assessment of airport capacity and forecast demand for 31 of the UK's largest airports in “UK Aviation Forecasts, 2011”:

The Department keeps the list of airports included in the forecasts under review and is actively considering the case for including Southend airport in future forecasts. There are no plans to include Oxford airport at present.
