To ask the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport what support she plans to provide to those in rural areas who will not be covered by the superfast broadband programme.

The local authority broadband plans are designed to support projects that deliver superfast broadband for 90% of premises and universal 2Mbps standard broadband. In addition, communities in locations that do not benefit from an upgrade to superfast broadband under the local authority project are eligible to apply for a grant from the Rural Community Broadband Fund to support community-led superfast broadband projects.
