To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer

(1) when his Department expects to publish its research on the effects of air passenger duty;

(2) what conclusions his Department has drawn from its assessment of air passenger duty; and when those conclusions will be published in full.

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what research his Department has conducted on the effects of the increase in air passenger duty on (a) Newcastle and Durham Tees Valley airports and (b) other regional airports.

HMRC has commissioned research on the effect that differential prices at UK airports could have upon the overall demand for aviation and upon passengers' choice of airport.

A full report on the findings of the research will be published on HMRC's website in due course.
