To ask the Secretary of State for Justice what recent assessment he has made of the scope and effectiveness of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

The Freedom of Information Act has been subject to post-legislative scrutiny by the Justice Select Committee to see how it is working in practice. The Committee published its recommendations on 26 July, and we intend to respond to them this autumn. The Government submitted a memorandum and other research to inform the Committee's deliberations.
