To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what representations she has received on Protocol 36 of the Treaties of the European Union regarding the UK's ability to opt out in the field of Justice and Home Affairs; and if she will make a statement.

The Government are currently considering the issue, where a decision would have to be notified by 31 May 2014. We will be listening carefully to the views of interested parties, including law enforcement agencies and others, before taking a final decision.
