To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what assistance the Metropolitan police has given to Bahraini security forces since January 2011.

There have been two deployments of Metropolitan police officers to Bahrain since January 2011, provided under section 26 of the Police Act 1996. In addition to this, the UK Police Counter Terrorism Liaison and Extremism Officer (CTELO) based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, maintains a liaison relationship on counter-terrorism matters with the Bahraini authorities.
