Before staff leave the National Audit Office (NAO) they are reminded of their obligations under the Official Secrets Act and are required to re-sign the Act. This prohibits disclosure of certain categories of security-sensitive information acquired through their official duties. In addition, they are reminded that they have a continuing obligation to respect the copyright and confidentiality of NAO and client information after they have left the NAO.
