To ask Her Majesty’s Government where UK Export Finance’s spending that counted as overseas development assistance, as reported in the Department for International Development’s annual report, went; and what the spending was on. [HL2046]
In its annual report and accounts 2011-12, DfID reported that the Export Credits Guarantee Department's (ECGD) contribution to UK overseas development assistance was £91 million. This sum was debt relief provided to the Democratic Republic of Congo under the terms of the international Heavily Indebted Poor Countries (HIPC) Initiative.
