To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what estimate her Department has made of the number of acquisitive crimes committed that are related to the consumption of illegal drugs.

The most recent Home Office estimate of the proportion of acquisitive crime which was related to the use of class A drugs was published in 2005. This estimated that between one third and a half of acquisitive crime was related to use of class A drugs.
