To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if she will introduce a requirement for the new Head of HM Inspectorate of Constabulary to have experience serving in a police force.
No. There has never been a requirement for the HM Chief Inspector of Constabulary to have been a serving police officer, and there are no plans to introduce this requirement.
