The UK-US extradition treaty was only one area considered by the independent review of the UK's extradition arrangements chaired by Sir Scott Baker. The report was published on 18 October 2011. The Government are currently considering how to respond to what is a very detailed and complex review of nearly 500 pages and will report their conclusions to Parliament when this has been completed.

It is important to ensure that the Government does as it stated in many examples of correspondence to concerned members of the public , that the Scott Baker review is not considered in isolation and that the Home Affairs Select Committee Findings on the US-UK Extradition Treaty along with the Joint Committee on Human Rights Report: The Human Rights Implications of UK Extradition Policy are also taken into account along with the Parliamentary Debates on the subject
