To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what progress has been made on making Cardiff a super-connected broadband city; and what discussions she has had with ministerial colleagues on this proposal.

I have had regular discussions with the Secretary of State for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport, my right hon. Friend Mr Hunt and other ministerial colleagues about broadband issues in Wales, including Cardiff becoming a super connected city.

Cardiff is currently finalising the details of its proposals in preparation for its submission to the Department for Culture, Olympics, Media and Sport. Upon receipt of these details, the Government will be able to determine the final level of funding for the project, which could be up to £12 million.
