To ask the Secretary of State for Wales

(1) how many pensioners in Wales will be affected by the freezing of age-related allowances announced in Budget 2012;

(2) what the average monetary effect will be for pensioners in Wales as a result of the freezing of age-related allowances announced in Budget 2012.

I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave to the hon. Members for Newport East (Jessica Morden), for Kilmarnock and Loudoun (Cathy Jamieson), for Leeds West (Rachel Reeves) and for Glasgow North East (Mr Bain) on 30 April 2012, Hansard, column 1204W, which provides available estimates of numbers and average monetary effects by country and region.
