To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what progress he has made in appointing a new Special Representative for Climate Change; when he expects to make such an appointment; what discussions he has had on the priorities for this post holder in the next three years; and if he will make a statement. [R]

A process is in place to recruit a replacement to the outgoing Special Representative for Climate Change. The successful candidate will be announced in due course. The role will be to continue to pursue British interests through a foreign policy-led programme of climate diplomacy.
